Storm's Man Of The Match was not Brad Latta - there is no such person of course. I meant new defenceman Brad Turner. That's what you get for typing things into mail messages when I should be asleep in bed! > BART STILL INJURED Bart Vanstaalduinen is still out injured with hernia troubles. He will be out of action for at least a couple of weeks. > DAVE SIMMS COMMENTARY ON INTER THE STORM If you have embedded sound capabilities in your browser (through a Netscape plug-in or whatever) then you'll be able to listen to Dave Simms commentating on a Steelers v Panthers game. The clip is only 10 seconds long, but is almost 80K in size. It is in WAV format and can be downloaded from the page if you don't have the necessary gubbins to hear it as you load the page. Where did I get it from I hear you ask! Well if you remember the Dave Simms programme quote from the programme of the Steelers v Storm game : "...Manchester are in town and word has it that they are trying to Steel things from us..." Well Mr Simms, I went to the Steelers home page and "stole" a sound clip from the Steelers' fabulous song, "Whoosh it's behind you!" (well, I think their trophies are safe!) The 60 second clip had a 10 second burst of Mr Simms in full flow (although not in contravertial mode it has to be said) and that will explain the drum beat accompanying the sound clip. Also, I wanted to know if I could do embedded sound in HTML and so on discoverign I could, I had to do something "constructive" with this new-found knowledge! I have added a few more changes to the Inter The Storm front page also. You can now access the pages without typing in the storm.html bit. The alternative URL is therefore: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/3859 This enables people discovering Inter The Storm via GeoCities to go direct to the pages and not through my other pages that used to be there. I have amended the layout of the front page slightly to make the menu wider so it fills the screen. I'm aware that it may make the table too wide for some browsers and if that is the case for you and you think it spoils the look of the page, please let me know. I have also added fuller descriptions of the links to other parts of Inter The Storm. > WINDOWS 95 & NETSCAPE RULE Although the new Web stats service has only been going for 5 days, some clear patterns are emerging. Windows 95 is the most used browser by visitors with Windows 3.1 not too far behind. Netscape is way ahead of Microsoft Internet Explorer with Netscape 2 and 3 being used just about equally. 75% of visitors, not surprisingly, have a CO.UK domain name with COM the best of the rest. There have been visitors from Japan and Sweden and quite a few from Canada. > LATEST SUPERLEAGUE TABLE Pl W D OL NL +/- Points Cardiff Devils 28 20 2 0 6 +42 42 Sheffield Steelers 27 17 3 2 5 +29 39 Newcastle Cobras 27 13 2 5 7 +11 33 Nottingham Panths 28 13 1 2 12 +9 29 Ayr Scottish E 27 10 6 0 11 -12 26 Basingstoke Bison 29 9 2 2 16 -24 22 Manchester Storm 24 8 2 1 13 -27 19 Bracknell Bees 26 8 2 0 16 -28 18 Up to and including games on 12 January > FORTHCOMING STORM FIXTURES WED 15 JAN - Ayr Scottish Eagles v Manchester Storm, Superleague, 7.30 face off.
