The result means that Storm haven't yet scored a goal in the play-offs. The score could have been much worse for Storm if they didn't have Eric Raymond in the goal. His excellent performance kept many Cardiff chances at bay. The game was goalless after the first period, but two goals for Cardiff in the second saw Storm's chances diminish. A third period Cardiff goal wrapped it up to put Storm to the bottom of the Group A table. Storm now surely must win all their remaining games to qualify for the semi-finals at the Nynex on 22 March. > BART INJURED AGAIN Bart Vanstaalduinen is quoted as being "back to square one" with his groin injury after Wednesday night's game at Newcastle. I expect this means that we won't now see him in action again until next season. Dale Jago has an operation on his hernia injury on Monday. > ALTRINCHAM CHALLENGE MATCH RESCHEDULED The challenge match between Storm and Altrincham Aces scheduled for Tue 4 March has been rescheduled for Tue 18 March. The game will actually be a mix of the two teams playing against each other rather than Aces v Storm. > LATEST ISL PLAY-OFFS GROUP A TABLE Pl W D OL NL +/- Points Cardiff Devils 3 3 0 0 0 +10 6 Newcastle Cobras 2 1 0 0 1 +0 2 Ayr Scottish E 1 0 0 0 1 -4 0 Manchester Storm 2 0 0 0 2 -6 0 Up to and including games on 7 March > FORTHCOMING STORM FIXTURES SUN 9 MAR - Manchester Storm v Newcastle Cobras (6.00) - Superleague Play-offs WED 12 MAR - Ayr Scottish E v Manchester Storm (6.30) - Superleague Play-offs THU 13 MAR - Manchester Storm v Cardiff Devils (7.30) - Superleague Play-offs SUN 16 MAR - Manchester Storm v Ayr Scottish E (6.00) - Superleague Play-offs TUE 18 MAR - Altrincham Aces v Manchester Storm (7.30) - Friendly > NEXT ON TV & RADIO SAT 8 MAR - BBC RADIO SHEFFIELD 104.1FM - Dave Simms brings you full commentary on Nottingham Panthers v Sheffield Steelers (face off 6.00) after all the football action 2.00-9.00pm SAT 8 MAR - GRANADA TV - Battles On Ice - Hour-long programme featuring highlights of Newcastle Cobras v Storm (5/3) - 2.40-3.45pm SAT 8 MAR - SKY SPORTS 3 - Ice Hockey Live - Live coverage of Ayr Scottish Eagles v Newcastle Cobras - 6.00-9.00pm SAT 8 MAR - BBC RADIO 5 LIVE 693/909AM - Night Extra - results and round-up of the night's games along with all the day's other sports results - 11.30pm-12.00 SUN 8 MAR - SKY SPORTS 1 - Ice Hockey - Recorded coverage of the play-off game (Ayr v Newcastle) shown earlier on Sky Sports 3 - 1.30-4.30am (sun morning) MON 10 MAR - BBC GMR 95.1/104.6FM - Drivetime - Interview with Storm representative - 5.55pm MON 10 MAR - HTV WALES - Ice Hockey Superleague - Extensive highlights of the conclusion of Cardiff Devils Superleague championship season - 11.35pm-12.35 WED 12 MAR - BBC RADIO SHEFFIELD 104.1FM - The Ice Line - Sheffield Steelers phone-in - 7.00-8.00pm WED 12 MAR - SKY SPORTS 3 - Ice Hockey Live - Live coverage of a play-off game (not sure which yet) - 7.00-9.30pm THU 13 MAR - SKY SPORTS 3 - Ice Hockey - Recorded coverage of the play-off game shown the previous night - 12.00-2.30pm THU 14 MAR - BBC RADIO LANCASHIRE 95.5/103.9FM - Grass Roots - Feature on Blackburn Hawks - approx 7.45pm FRI 15 MAR - BBC GMR 95.1/104.6FM - Friday Sport - Interview/Feature on Manchester Storm around the commentary rugby league game : Bradford Bulls v Warrington Wolves - 7.00-10.00pm > GET BACK ISSUES OF STORM BLITZ All previous issues of Storm Blitz are still available.
