Storm last conceded a goal more than 190 minutes ago - in the 5-3 victory against Ayr Scottish Eagles earlier in the month. Jim Hrivnak's three consecutive shutouts are also a personal first for him. Defeated today were big rivals Sheffield Steelers who travelled to Manchester in poor form with Hibbert in the net. The crowd of over 12,300 saw Craig Woodcroft open the scoring after 13 minutes. The second period saw the first ever penalty shot ever scored by Storm. Stefan Ketola beat Hibbert to double Storm's lead. Hilton Ruggles soon made it 3-0 just before the half hour and Steelers already looked defeated. Kris Miller made it 4-0 with eight minutes remaining. > OTHER RESULTS SUNDAY On Sunday in the Superleague's other games, Ayr Scottish Eagles comprehensively defeated Nottingham Panthers 8-1. It was 4-0 to Ayr in the first 15 minutes - Hoad and Biette scored twice for Eagles as they look set to finish top of the Superleague table. Cardiff Devils defeated Basingstoke Bison 4-3 after overtime in Cardiff. Vezio Sacratini equalised for the Devils to take the game into overtime and then with 110 seconds of overtime remaining Peter Ekroth scored the winner. Bracknell Bees also came from behind to beat bottom placed Newcastle Cobras 4-3. After two periods, Newcastle were 3-2 up in Bracknell before Pellerin and Ward scored the winning goals. > SATURDAY RESULTS On Saturday night in the Superleague, Nottingham Panthers defeated Cardiff Devils 3-1 at Lower Parliament Street. In the clash of the bottom teams, Newcastle Cobras beat Basingstoke Bison 4-2 away and gave them hope of finishing off the bottom of the Superleague. In the Express Cup, Sheffield Steelers clinched a place in the semi-finals with a last-gasp 3-2 overtime win against Ayr Scottish Eagles who had already won their place in the latter stages before they came into this game. With just 30 seconds of overtime remaining, the scored tied at 2-2 with Piero Greco off the ice, Steelers rushed forward and Tim Cranston scored the dramatic winner. The game was earlier marred by a 12-player on-ice brawl. > VEU FELDKIRCH WIN EHL The European Hockey League concluded its Finals with victory for Austrian team VEU Feldkirch.
