I don't know about you but apart from the first five minutes when Ayr were terrible we just seemed to give up. Everyone seemed to play flat Ayr players were dishing up the rough stuff as usual but no one was giving any back. I know fighting every other minute is not the way to play hockey but basically being beaten up at home and not giving anything in return (apart from Ruggles) seems to me to show a lack of effort by all concerned.
Although there is always the second leg and at least we seemed to have got it right at Newcastle.
