I think you're both right-i.e.-the games against the bottom club are eliminated from some calculation.I think it's only if two teams are tied for the top place in a group,not for deciding the best two runners up.Even so,a point against first AND six against third should put us somewhere near.
Whatever,as nice as it would be,another half-dozen Euro games(Is it two more home and away groups of 4,or is it 1 game against each at a neutral venue over 3 or 4 days??) tagged onto an already busy schudule could distract us from our ultimate goals for this season.
Though quite a nice distraction it would be!!!
