If the players are choosing not to try for the Express Cup, why are they here? They are here to play to the best of their ability whatever game they are playing in. Kurt K should be out to win everything he can - if not, then why is he here?
We shouldn't be treating competitions as "poor relations". I want to win the Superleague AND the Express Cup!
There are two sides to the story of why the Express Cup is here. With 3 home and 3 away, if the league is settled early on, what else is there to play for? The play offs are already decided - everyone qualifies despite where they finish! With the Express Cup you actually have to qualify to get to the play-off stage and so this in itself should create more interest than in dull end-of-season meaningless Superleague games in February.
While we've still got a chance of qualifying for the play-offs in the Express Cup, we should be giving it our 100% attention - the same as the Superleague.
