Sorry to go on about this but I have never read so much rubbish in all my life. It really does seem that there are many people out there without a clue about coincidental penalties.

In all seriousness you would really do yourself a favour if you got hold of a rule book.

It's unbelievable that folk are so into a sport yet do not know the rules.

Please ignore Mike Landers comments on coincidental penalties being at the refs. discretion - he has none.

In short, when two players cop for penalties at the same time the ONLY time the penalties are not concidental is when the teams are 5 on 5 and the call is 2 mins. to each player.

In any other situation, be it 5 on 5 or 4 on 4 or 5 on 4 etc. the penalties are coincidental and do not appear on the clock.

The idea is to keep as many players on the ice as possible in all cases.

Once again - BUY A RULE BOOK - You know it makes sense.
