Sorry to be adding to this discussion late, but I've not looked at the forum all week!

Firstly, I went and had a brilliant night, and would like to thank the members of the stormforce team who organised it (especially Mandy, cos she did me a favour!).

Secondly, I know the family whose son got the better score, and they told me about all this on the night. Their problem was not so much that the trophy had been awarded to the wrong person, but that that nobody would acknowledge that a mistake had been made (or accept responsibility), even when presented with proof, and just went on about how hard it was to organise such an event - which I do sypmathise with, but I wouldn't want throwing back in my face! Personally I didn't even have chance to enter the competiion as I was still bowling my first game when they announced the competition was over!

In running a competition, it looks like the people who organised the event acted on some bad advice from the GX Superbowl who thought they could record the highest scores scored on the night. What stormforce should have done on the night is apologise to the people concerned for the mistake and offer to see if something could be done afterwards, leaving them clear to have a think later!

Next, on the issue of the attitude of the stormforce committee - I know a few of the committee, but not all of them, but generally find them to be friendly and helpful people who have volaunteered, and give up some of their free time to do the jobs - the fact there is some bonuses I accept as going with the position. Anybody is welcome to put their name forward for a job on the stormforce committee, all you have to do is put your name forward, (with a second?) and get voted in at the next AGM!

Lastly, on Simon, maybe he only put his original comment on the forum to stir up some debate, after all that's what the forum is about. If that was it - he has certainly succeeded this time!
