Does anybody know whether the ISL are planning on submitting the names of the Superleague winners (i.e. AYR) or the winners of the play offs as next years British representives in the 1998/99 European Hockey League?
There is ony one wild card place available and that will be taken, according to the IIHF rules for next years competition, by an Austrian team if VEU Feldkirch (this years EHL winners) are not the Austrian champions. Whilst VEU have already won the 97/98 EHL and the 97/98 Alpine League the Austrian Hockey league is still in progress.. It would appear that Storm have a good chance of getting offerered the wild card place given last seasons, performance, crowds, facilities etc. and therefore it is to be hoped that VEU win their league so that the wildcard place remains available
