Good solid performance against a pretty physical
Cobra's team(In the case of mssrs Trumbley and Vani
a VERY physical team!!).Scoring was as follows(Cobras
first)-0-1(Ruggles/Maltais/Woody),1-1(Vani/Brebant)
1-2(Ketola/Tomlinson/Jago),1-3(Maltais/Jago)
second period:-2-3(Johnson/LaScala),2-4(Hoffman/Woody),
2-5(Woody),3-5(Stewart/Brebant/Vani).
third period-er-none!!
SOG 22-34(I reckon this is wrong,as Cobras had 20 before
the third period.)
Nets-Cowley started was pulled after fifth goal
in favour of Foster(Who was brilliant).Sjerven
started and finished for us-very steady.
Penalty count Cobras 30-Storm 18.No Majors,but Hoffman got
a 2+2(Slashing/roughing),Vani got a 2+2+2(for being big,hairy
and a right poser!!)
MOM-2 were dished out,ours were Woody and Sjerven
Referee-Folka-never too far away from controversy at the
moment,is he?Actually,I thought he reffed the
first 2 periods well.He let a pretty physical game flow
better than most,but then changed,giving some real 'ticky-tack'
calls late on.Cobras fans sang 'Stand up if you hate Folka'
throughout the final minute!!!
Crowd-42,000(At StJames' Park) about 2,000 at
the hockey!!
