I agree almost completely with your comments, except that Rowe had been having an extremely bad game. To say that he was alright up until the Ketola incident is ridiculous. Mike Rowe has done this type of officiating twice now at the nynex and has obviously got some kind of a grudge against Manchester.
As for giving linesman more say I Think NOT!!!
It would be quite nice if Grieve and Staniforth could actually see a straight line when looking along the blue line. No matter how they tried they just always manage to get most calls wrong. When th puck crossed the line they played on but when it was kept in they blew for offside.
I agree with the bit about the Booing in the arena I have never heard it that loud and if Mike Rowe ever returns to the Nynex I dread to think what kind of reception he'll get. Maybe the Mascot will throw the puck at him instead of just giving it to him. Or maybe we could bang his head on the ice to see if he actually understands that nothing is actually happening to him which is what happened with Ketola.
Did you actually notice though that we got 5+game and they got 2+2 roughing of which only two minutes were taken because thier guy came out with 3 minutes left of our 5 minutes when he should have come out on 1 minute.
Also to get a five minute penalty on a spearing offence surely he would have to of injured their guy pretty badly, so bad in fact that he just got straight back up and beat Ketola up.
I myself didn't even see the spear that led to that incident 'Did it really exist?' or was Mike Rowe doing Cardiff a favour by throwing our best guy out.
