If folk were a little more circumspect in their opinions, perhaps the world would be a nicer place. There was a "standing ovation" for the last minute or so of that game. It doesn't happen every time Steelers lose, and there has been plenty of criticism of team performance since, but the fans were well aware of what a morale sapping experience the team had just been through. They are also aware of the difficulties the Club have been experiencing in the last few months, which have undoubtedly affected the performance on the ice. I've been at the Arena when the home fans have left in silence, I've watched fans walk out early in disgust, and I've listened to (and joined in) barracking of the team when they've put in a lousy performance, but there's a time and a place for everything. What's needed for us at the moment is patience and a little faith, tempered with some constructive criticism. I cannot understand the minority of supporters at every club who can't support their own team without feeling the need to supplement their enjoyment by slagging off other teams and - far worse - their fans. Its peurile, and can only do harm to a sport that is in real danger of financial collapse.
