The puck hit the curved frame supporting the top of the back of the net. No ping because it is padded, but the shot was whipped in quick enough for it to seem like a rebound from the crossbar.
My first reaction was "How did he miss it?" as I thought it was no goal. The replay showed it hit the padding at the top.
As for goal judge, with benefit of the doubt you have to acknowledge two things...
1) Speed of the shot as it went in
2) The angle of that supporting bar and the judges box makes it all but impossible to see.
