Great result,great first period,thought we showed greater resolve when they came at us in the second,Let's face it their first goal was scored on a PP that never should have been,and the second was a total fluke-definately went in,though!
On our second goal,if we scored at 39.59,why didn't we have a face off?39.59 means one second left.IF it went in before the buzzer-and surely no one can say for ABSOLUTE sure whether it did or it didn't-it could have been timed at 40.00,which surely it was.Didn't Hand make a complete arse of himself,arguing like he did?Crapper should have binned him.
Talking of Crapper,he lived up to his name tonight,didn't he?Jago gets decked,then he goes into the box on a slashing call?Kovacs picks a fight on Brebant,then goes back for more after it breaks up,both players get equal pens?Garbage.Come on ISL,either get some decent imported refs,or get ours trained better.
On MOM.WHAT???OK,Ruby got 2 +1,but he took a pair of bad penalties and missed a glorious chance when the game was tight.He's looked a yard off the pace since he came back from injury.I'm not knocking the guy,In fact I really like the Ruby we saw from Christmas last year and the first half of this,but no way on Gods earth he was top man tonight-number 93 by a long,long way.Hrivnak not too far behind but he let a bad goal in.
Nice to see such a huge crowd in,with,it must be said probably the lowest turn out from the Steeler fans we've had at the Nynex.
Mind you,I couldn't watch them every week.When they decide they want to play hockey,they are a joy to watch,but there's too much else about their game,every check into the boards is finished with a jab of the stick,or knee somewhere naughty.It's not as if it's just one player.Major Goono wasn't there tonight,but it was as if his body was in Kovac's(ooh,err).I thought the guy was a Christian?What happened to turning the other check,uh?
